The latest generation of PowerEdge servers comes equipped with robust security features designed to safeguard your data center. Below is a summary of these features, ensuring the protection of both your hardware and data:

• Cover Latch:
  A tooled latch is integrated into the side cover, securing it to the rack chassis. This feature prevents unauthorized access to the internal components of the server.

• Bezel:
  An optional metal bezel is mounted on the front of the chassis, providing a Dell ID for easy identification. Additionally, a lock on the bezel helps protect against unauthorized access to the hard drives. The system status can be conveniently viewed on the LCD screen when the bezel is installed, offering real-time monitoring.

• Trusted Platform Module (TPM):
  The TPM is a hardware-based security solution used to generate/store keys, authenticate passwords, and create/store digital certificates. It also supports Intel Xeon TXT functionality for added security. Furthermore, TPM enables BitLocker™ encryption in Windows Server 2008. TPM 1.2 is supported, though it is not available in China or Russia.

• Power-Off Security:
  The BIOS feature allows you to disable the power button, preventing unauthorized power-up of the system. This adds an additional layer of protection, especially in high-security environments.

• Intrusion Alert:
  An internal switch detects any chassis intrusion, ensuring that any unauthorized access or tampering with the server hardware is promptly alerted. This feature helps to monitor the physical security of the system.

• Secure Boot Mode:
  The BIOS has the ability to enter a secure boot mode through system setup. This mode locks out the power and NMI switches on the control panel, providing better control over the server’s boot process. You can also set up a system password for further protection.
